FHP investigating Indian River County fatal crash on County Road 512
Indian River County, FLa- FHP is currently investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on County Road 512, east of the intersection of County Road 507. It happened 03/13/2018 at 9:30 p.m.
A male (name not released pending next of kin notification)was riding riding his bicycle, crossing County Road 512 from the south to the north. Cody Lee Spaulding of Vero Beach was driving his Dodge Ram westbound on County Road 512. He was in the westbound lane approaching the intersection of County Road 507 (Broadway Street).
The male on the bicycle entered the westbound lane, directly into the approaching path of Vehicle 1.
Spaulding’s front struck the right side of the male on his bicycle.
The man on the bicycle was not wearing a helmet.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
