FHP :  Fort Pierce man dies after driving motorcycle into Indian River Lagoon

Fort Pierce, Fl  (treasurecoast.com)- Florida Highway Patrol has reported a Fort Pierce man has died after driving his  motorcycle into the Indian River Lagoon.

A 63-year-old from Fort Pierce died after driving his motorcycle into Indian River Lagoon Monday night.

Florida Highway Patrol said the motorcycle was heading east on Midway Road at about 11:25 p.m. when the driver didn’t stop at the stop sign.

He then went off the road, hit a reflector sign and drove into Indian River Lagoon.

The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and died of his injuries, according to troopers.
