FDOT Treasure Coast Traffic Impact Report
April 21 through April 28, 2017

TREASURE COAST – Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties are expected during the week of April 21 through April 28. Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the Treasure Coast.

MARTIN COUNTY

Kanner Highway / State Road 76 from Lost River Road to south of Monterey Road
Traffic Impact:
The speed limit on Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Indian Street has been reduced from 50 mph to 45 mph. The speed limit will remain at 45 mph after project completion.
One lane in either direction of Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Martin County High School may be closed intermittently Monday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to clear vegetation for drainage work and roadway widening.
The sidewalk along the east side of Kanner Highway just south of the high school will be intermittently impacted Monday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., with flagmen holding pedestrian traffic so construction vehicles can enter and exit the pond area.
Starting Monday, April 24, the southbound sidewalk along Kanner Highway from Pomeroy Street to South River Drive will be closed around-the-clock through May 12 for drainage work. Pedestrians will be detoured to the northbound sidewalk along Kanner Highway at Indian Street and Pomeroy Street.

I-95 Interchange at Kanner Highway (State Road 76 / Exit 101)

Traffic Impact:
One lane in each direction of Kanner Highway will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday night between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. for road work.

Kanner Highway / State Road 76 from Connors Highway (State Road 15) to West of SW Lake Point Circle

Traffic Impact:

One lane in either direction of Kanner Highway may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through April for sign installation. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

4.      State Road 710 / Warfield Boulevard from east of Kanner Highway (State Road 76) to the Martin / Palm Beach County Line
Traffic Impact:
The eastbound lane of SR 710 will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for barrier wall installation. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

5.      I-95 / Martin Highway (State Road 714) Interchange Landscape Improvements

Traffic Impact:
The shoulders at the I-95 / Martin Highway interchange may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through fall 2017.

6.      I-95 Resurfacing Project from Indiantown Road to Bridge Road

Traffic Impact:
Open House: On Tuesday, May 2 the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an informational Open House from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Project Field Office, 860 Jupiter Park Drive, Suite 2, Jupiter, FL 33458. Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one. No formal presentation will be made.

NE Causeway Boulevard from Indian River Drive to State Road A1A in Jensen Beach

The sidewalk along the north side of NW Causeway Boulevard is closed for building construction through October 2017. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the south side of the roadway.

U.S. 1 from SE Heritage Boulevard to SE Seabranch Boulevard in Hobe Sound
Traffic Impact:
One lane in each direction of U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through May 12 for construction of turning lanes.

U.S. 1 and Indian Street Intersection in Stuart
Traffic Impact:
Two lanes in each direction of U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Wednesday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for striping.
One lane in each direction of Indian Street will be closed Monday through Wednesday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for striping.

10.  Roosevelt Bridge over the St. Lucie River in Stuart
Traffic Impact:
One northbound lane of the bridge will be closed Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for street light repairs.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

State Road 70 / Okeechobee Road and Jenkins Road Intersection in Fort Pierce
Traffic Impact:
One lane in either direction of Okeechobee Road from I-95 to Kerr Street may be closed intermittently Sunday through Thursday night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road work.
One lane in either direction of Jenkins Road to the north & south of the Okeechobee Road intersection may be closed intermittently Sunday through Thursday night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road work. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
The sidewalk on the north side of Okeechobee Road from Peters Road to McNeil Road is closed through spring 2017. Pedestrians may cross at the signalized intersections at Peters Road & McNeil Road.

Indrio Road Widening Project in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:
The speed limit on Indrio Road between I-95 and Emerson Avenue has been reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph. The speed limit will remain at 45 mph after project completion.
One lane in either direction of Indrio Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for widening. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
The left-turn from Spanish Lakes Fairways to Indrio Road is closed and all motorists leaving the community MUST make a right turn onto Indrio Road through Monday, April 24. Motorists wanting to go east on Indrio Road should go west and make a U-turn at the opening after the I-95 overpass.

On Monday, April 24, a new traffic signal will be activated at the Indrio Road and Koblebard Road intersection. The signal will be in flash mode prior to the activation to alert motorists of the new signalized intersection. Message signs will also display advance notification for motorists approaching the intersection.

On Tuesday, April 25, the realignment of Spanish Lakes Boulevard is expected to be completed. Motorists entering and exiting the Spanish Lakes Fairways community must use the new signalized Koblegard Road intersection. The Spanish Lakes Fairways entrance west of Koblegard Road will no longer be in use.
I-95 Bridge Deck Replacement Project at Gatlin Boulevard and Midway Road
Description: The I-95 bridge deck replacement project over Gatlin Boulevard and Midway Road includes: removing & replacing the bridge decks on I-95 over Gatlin Boulevard and CR-712/Midway Road; milling and resurfacing approaches to bridge decks; and re-striping approaches to bridge decks.

Traffic Impact:
The inside lanes of northbound and southbound I-95 at Gatlin Boulevard are closed through April 27, with two lanes open in each direction.
The outside lanes of northbound and southbound I-95 at Midway Road are closed, with two lanes open in each direction.
On Wednesday, April 26, the outside lane of southbound I-95 at Gatlin Boulevard will be closed, with two lanes open in each direction.
On Thursday, April 27, the outside lane of northbound I-95 at Gatlin Boulevard will be closed, with two lanes open in each direction.
Traffic on Gatlin Boulevard at I-95 will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shifted to the north or south Sunday through Thursday night between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. for overhead bridge work.

One lane in each direction of I-95 at Gatlin Boulevard at the I-95 will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge work.

Traffic Impact:
One lane in either direction of Midway Road from 25th Street to U.S. 1 may be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
lane in either direction of Oleander Avenue from W. 1st Street to north of Midway Road will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

North 25th Street from St. Lucie Boulevard (County Road 608) to U.S. 1.

Cost/Completion: $2.14 million. Completion in fall 2017.
Traffic Impact:
One lane in each direction of 25th Street will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through April.

U.S. 1 from Virginia Avenue to Ohio Avenue in Fort Pierce
Traffic Impact:
One lane in each direction of U.S. 1 will be closed Wednesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for median work.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

I-95 (SR 9) from just north of State Road 60 (Osceola Boulevard/Exit 147) at Vero Beach to the Indian River/Brevard County Line

Traffic Impact:
Motorists should be alert for slow moving construction vehicles entering and leaving the travel lanes.
The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph in the work zone.
One lane in each direction of I-95 may be closed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for construction activities.
Southbound I-95 traffic from MM 156.5 to MM 155.8 is shifted to the new section of the CR-512 Bridge.
Northbound I-95 traffic is shifted to the southbound lanes from MM 154 to MM 154.8
Northbound I-95 traffic is shifted to the northbound lanes from MM 156 to the end of the project at MM 160.

Central Railroad Corridor Greenway (CRCG) Pedestrian Overpass
Description: On April 26, 2017, construction will begin on the Central Railroad Corridor Greenway (CRCG) Pedestrian Overpass project from west of I-95 to North County Regional Park. Work of this project includes: constructing a 12-foot shared use path and a pedestrian overpass over I-95, providing pedestrians and bicyclists with convenient access to area parks, conservation areas, recreational and educational facilities; maintaining an open drainage system with swales and minor culvert crossings; and installing lighting, architectural towers, and specialty signage at the bridge location.
Cost/Completion: $4.6 million. Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2018.
Traffic Impact:
All lanes are open tthrough Friday, April 28.

U.S. 1 at 11th Street in Vero Beach
Traffic Impact:
One northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through May 5 to construct a business entrance.

State Road 60 and 90th Avenue Intersection in Vero Beach
Traffic Impact:
Shoulder closures along westbound SR 60 will occur Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drainage work.
