 FDOT Treasure Coast Traffic Impact 7/30-8/4

 

TREASURE COAST – Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties are expected during the week of June 28 through August 4. Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the Treasure Coast. For updated lane closure information, please refer to www.d4fdot.com.

 

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

MARTIN COUNTY

 

  1. Kanner Highway / State Road 76 from Lost River Road to south of Monterey Road

Traffic Impact:

  • The speed limit on Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Indian Street has been reduced from 50 mph to 45 mph. The speed limit will remain at 45 mph after project completion.
  • One lane in either direction of Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Martin County High School may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drainage work and roadway widening.
  • One lane in either direction of Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Martin County High School may be closed intermittently Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge and drainage work.
  • The sidewalk along the east side of Kanner Highway just south of the high school will be intermittently impacted Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. with flagmen holding pedestrian traffic so construction vehicles can enter and exit the pond area.
  • The sidewalk along southbound Kanner Highway from Pomeroy Street to South River Drive is closed through August for drainage work. Pedestrians will be detoured to the northbound sidewalk along Kanner Highway at Indian Street and Pomeroy Street.
  • Advance Notice: Starting Monday, August 7 at 9 a.m., the median openings along Kanner Highway at Otter Run Place and Cayuga Terrace will be fully closed for drainage work. This closure is anticipated to be in place through Friday, August 18 at 5 p.m., weather permitting. Motorists wanting to turn onto Otter Run Place (Whitemarsh Reserve) should continue north on Kanner Highway and U-turn at Indian Street. Motorists wanting to turn onto Cayuga Terrace (Fisherman’s Cove) should continue south on Kanner Highway and U-turn at South River Drive.

  1. State Road 710 / Warfield Boulevard from east of Kanner Highway (State Road 76) to the Martin / Palm Beach County Line

Traffic Impact:

  • The eastbound lane of SR 710 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for barrier wall installation. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

 

  1. I-95 / Martin Highway (State Road 714) Interchange Landscape Improvements

 

Traffic Impact:

  • The shoulders at the I-95/Martin Highway interchange may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through fall 2017.

 

  1. I-95 Resurfacing Project from Indiantown Road to Bridge Road

Traffic Impact:

  • Two northbound lanes of I-95 from Indiantown Road to Bridge Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. through August for paving.

 

  1. Kanner Highway (State Road 76) I-95 Interchange Landscape Improvements

Traffic Impact:

  • The shoulders at the I-95/Kanner Highway interchange may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through fall 2017.

 

  1. State Road A1A and Sewall’s Point Road Signalization Project

Traffic Impact:

  • All lanes are open through Friday, August 4. The project begins Friday, August 11.

 

  1. NE Causeway Boulevard from Indian River Drive to State Road A1A in Jensen Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • The right turn lane from westbound NE Causeway Boulevard to northbound Indian River Drive will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through October.
  • The sidewalk along the north side of NW Causeway Boulevard is closed for building construction through October. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the south side of the roadway.

 

  1. Kanner Highway from Manor Drive to South Carolina Drive in Stuart

Traffic Impact:

  • One southbound lane of Kanner Highway will be closed Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for drainage work.

 

  1. Roosevelt Bridge Fishing Pier in Stuart

Traffic Impact:

  • The fishing pier under the Roosevelt Bridge is closed through August to replace the handrails along the pier. While the fishing pier is closed, no one will be permitted to access this area.

 

  1. State Road 710 from Martin Highway to Tommy Clements Street in Indiantown

Traffic Impact:

  • Lanes in either direction of State Road 710 will be closed intermittently Thursday and Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. for railroad crossing repairs. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

 

  1. U.S. 1 at Jensen Beach Boulevard in Jensen Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • One northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work.

 

  1. LUCIE COUNTY

 

  1. Indrio Road Widening Project in Fort Pierce

 

Traffic Impact:

  • The speed limit on Indrio Road between I-95 and Emerson Avenue has been reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph. The speed limit will remain at 45 mph after project completion.
  • One lane in either direction of Indrio Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for widening. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Emerson Avenue may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for widening. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Spanish Lakes Boulevard may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for construction. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • Johnston Road south of Indrio Road is reduced to one lane during the day through mid-August 31 for road work. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  1. I-95 Bridge Deck Replacement Project at Gatlin Boulevard and Midway Road

 

Traffic Impact:

  • All lanes are open. This project has been completed.
  1. Midway Road Widening Project from S. 25th Street to U.S. 1

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in either direction of Midway Road from 25th Street to U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Oleander Avenue from W. 1st Street to north of Midway Road will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Sunrise Boulevard from W. 1st Street to Augusta Street will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of 25th Street north and south of Midway Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

  • The inside left turn lane from northbound U.S. 1 to westbound Midway Road is closed around-the-clock for widening.
  • The inside left turn lane from southbound U.S. 1 to eastbound Midway Road is closed around-the-clock for widening.
  • The right turn lane from eastbound Midway Road to southbound Oleander Avenue is closed around-the-clock for roadway widening. Eastbound motorists can turn south from the through lane.
  • The right turn lane from westbound Midway Road to northbound Oleander Avenue is closed around-the-clock for roadway widening. Westbound motorists can turn north from the through lane.
  • Drainage work is underway along Melville Road from Midway Road to Brack Road that will necessitate five consecutive phases of full closures. These closures will start at the south end near Brack Road and move north to Midway Road and are expected to be completed in mid-October. Motorists should detour via Brack Road to Oleander Avenue or U.S. 1 to Ulrich Road. Residents and emergency services will have access to properties along Melville Road at all times. The details of each phase are as follows:

 

  • Sunrise Boulevard is closed approximately 650 feet north of Midway Road at Merritt’s Ditch through July 31 for drainage work. Motorists should detour via Edward Road or Midway Road to Oleander Avenue.

 

North 25th Street from St. Lucie Boulevard (County Road 608) to U.S. 1.

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in each direction of 25th Street will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through August for paving and sign installation.
  • One lane in each direction of U.S. 1 at 25th Street may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through August.
  • Intermittent lane closures will occur at the 25thStreet and St. Lucie Boulevard intersection Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for utility work.

 

  1. I-95 Bridge Deck Replacement Project at Glades Cut Off Road (County Road 709) and Ten Mile Creek

 

Traffic Impact:

  • The speed limit on southbound I-95 at the two overpass locations – Glades Cut Off Road overpass (MM 125) and Ten Mile Creek overpass just south of Okeechobee Road/Exit 129 – has been reduced from 70 mph to 60 mph.
  • Traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction of I-95 at the Glades Cut Off Road overpass Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction of I-95 at Ten Mile Creek overpass Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • The outside lane of southbound I-95 at Glades Cut Off Road overpass and Ten Mile Creek overpass is closed around-the-clock to prepare for an upcoming traffic shift.
  • Starting Monday, July 31, the outside lane of northbound I-95 at Glades Cut Off Road overpass and Ten Mile Creek overpass will be closed around-the-clock to prepare for an upcoming traffic shift.

 

  1. McCarty Road North Bridge Replacement Project

Traffic Impact:

  • Starting the week of July 31, McCarty Road (County Road 712A) will be closed around-the-clock closure from Twin Creeks Drive north for 0.12 miles to replace the bridge. This full closure is anticipated to last approximately 9 months. During this time, motorists should detour via Okeechobee Road or Midway Road to Shinn Road.

 

  1. Port St. Lucie Boulevard from Floresta Drive to Veteran’s Memorial Parkway in Port St. Lucie

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in either direction of Port St. Lucie Boulevard will be closed Wednesday and Thursday night between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. for bridge repairs.

 

  1. U.S. 1 from Virginia Avenue to Ohio Avenue in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in each direction of U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through August 25 for median work and to install mast arms.

 

  1. State Road 70 from NE 31st Avenue to NE 34th Avenue in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One westbound lane of State Road 70 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through August for utility work.

 

  1. State Road A1A from Pepper Lane to Nettles Boulevard in Jensen Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • The southbound lane of A1A will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

 

  1. State Road A1A from Florida Power and Light to Herman’s Bay Beach in Jensen Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • The northbound lane of A1A will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

 

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

 

  1.  I-95 (SR 9) from just north of State Road 60 (Osceola Boulevard/Exit 147) at Vero Beach to the Indian River/Brevard County Line

 

Traffic Impact:

  • Motorists should be alert for slow moving construction vehicles entering and leaving the travel lanes.
  • The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph in the work zone.
  • Lane in each direction of I-95 may be closed periodically Sunday through Thursday nights between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for construction.
  • I-95 northbound from MM 148 to MM 149 is shifted toward the median.
  • The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from County Road 512 is shifted slightly to the east.
  • I-95 southbound at MM 153 is diverted to the median for roadway work.
  • traffic from MM 156.5 to 155.8 is shifted to the new section of the CR 512 bridge.
  • I-95 southbound at the Brevard County line is switched from a left lane closure to a right lane closure at MM 160.
  • southbound from MM 160 to MM 158 is shifted toward the median to the two inside lanes.
  • I-95 southbound from MM 158 to MM 156 is shifted toward the median to the two inside lanes.
  •  northbound traffic exiting at CR 512 to Fellsmere is moved slightly north for construction in the area.
  • On Monday, July 31, I-95 northbound from MM 153 to MM 153.5 will be shifted from the two inside lanes to the two outside lanes.

 

  1. Central Railroad Corridor Greenway (CRCG) Pedestrian Overpass

 

Traffic Impact:

  • The shoulder along the I-95 northbound entrance ramp from County Road 512 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. through fall 2017.
  • The shoulder along the I-95 southbound exit ramp to County Road 512 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. through fall 2017.
  • One lane in each direction of I-95 north of Fellsmere Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for barrier wall installation.
  • Advance Notice: On Wednesday, August 9, there will be two separate rolling lane closures on southbound I-95 between 10:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. to mobilize equipment. The rolling lane closures will begin at the I-95 southbound rest area, located approximately 3.5 miles south State Road 514 (Exit 173) in Brevard County and continue south to Fellsmere Road (Exit 156).

 

  1. 17th Street Shoulder Widening & Resurfacing

 

Traffic Impact:

  • Open House: On Wednesday, August 9, 2017, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an informational Open House from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the City of Vero Beach City Hall in the Council Chambers Room, 1053 20th Place, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one. Please note: There will not be a formal presentation. Guests may arrive at any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

    1. State Road A1A just north of Orchid Island Drive in Vero Beach

  • Traffic Impact:

    • One lane in either direction of A1A will be shifted to the inside turn lane Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through August 18 to construct a turn lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

    1. U.S. 1 south of Oslo Road in Vero Beach

    Traffic Impact:

    • The southbound bike lane of U.S. 1 at the Toyota of Vero beach will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through August 18 to construct a driveway connection. During this time, cyclists heading south from Oslo Road should cross at Oslo Road.
