FDOT Treasure Coast Traffic Impact Report

July 7 through July 14, 2017

 

TREASURE COAST – Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties are expected during the week of June 30 through July 7. Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the Treasure Coast. For updated lane closure information, please refer to www.d4fdot.com. CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

MARTIN COUNTY

  1. Kanner Highway / State Road 76 from Lost River Road to south of Monterey Road

 

Traffic Impact:

  • The speed limit on Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Indian Street has been reduced from 50 mph to 45 mph. The speed limit will remain at 45 mph after project completion.
  • One lane in either direction of Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Martin County High School may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drainage work and roadway widening.
  • One lane in either direction of Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Martin County High School may be closed intermittently Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge and drainage work.
  • The sidewalk along the east side of Kanner Highway just south of the high school will be intermittently impacted Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. with flagmen holding pedestrian traffic so construction vehicles can enter and exit the pond area.
  • The sidewalk along southbound Kanner Highway from Pomeroy Street to South River Drive is closed through July for drainage work. Pedestrians will be detoured to the northbound sidewalk along Kanner Highway at Indian Street and Pomeroy Street.

  1. I-95 Interchange at Kanner Highway (State Road 76 / Exit 101)

Description: This 0.745-mile project includes widening Kanner Highway (SR 76) at the I-95 interchange, reconstructing the I-95 entrance and exit ramps, drainage, milling and resurfacing, signing & pavement markings, and signalization. Cost/Completion: $5.8 million. Completion in summer 2017.

Traffic Impact:

  • All lanes are open through Friday, July 14.

 

  1. State Road 710 / Warfield Boulevard from east of Kanner Highway (State Road 76) to the Martin / Palm Beach County Line

Description: This 5.572-mile project includes reconstructing State Road 710 to a 4-lane divided roadway with a 40-foot sodded median, concrete pavement, installing a new drainage system, and constructing a new wildlife crossing west of Martin / Palm Beach County line.

Cost/Completion: $28 million. Completion in spring 2020.

Traffic Impact:

  • The eastbound lane of SR 710 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for barrier wall installation. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

  1. I-95 / Martin Highway (State Road 714) Interchange Landscape Improvements

Description: The improvements under this contract consist of installing trees at the Martin Highway (SR 714) I-95 Interchange and irrigation and pump installation.

Cost/Completion: $1.15 million. Completion in fall 2017.

Traffic Impact:

  • The shoulders at the I-95/Martin Highway interchange may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through fall 2017.

  1. I-95 Resurfacing Project from Indiantown Road to Bridge Road

Description: The I-95 resurfacing project from south of Indiantown Road (State Road 706) in the Town of Jupiter to north of Bridge Road (County Road 708) in Martin County is anticipated to begin Tuesday, May 9. The improvements under this contract consist of resurfacing the I-95 mainline from south of Indiantown Road to north of Bridge Road and the I-95 interchange ramps at Indiantown Road (Exit 87) and Bridge Road (Exit 96), minor shoulder and guardrail repairs, and replacement of the southbound bridge approach slab at approximate mile marker 89.5.

Cost/Completion: $17.2 million. Completion in fall 2018.

Traffic Impact:

  • Two northbound lanes of I-95 from Indiantown Road to Bridge Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. through August for paving.

 

  1. Kanner Highway (State Road 76) I-95 Interchange Landscape Improvements

Description: The improvements under this contract consist of installing trees at the Kanner Highway (SR 76) I-95 Interchange and an irrigation and pump system.

Cost/Completion: $1.46 million. Completion is expected in fall 2017.

Traffic Impact:

  • The shoulders at the I-95/Kanner Highway interchange may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through fall 2017.

 

  1. State Road A1A and Sewall’s Point Road Signalization Project

Description: This project is expected to begin August 11. The improvements under this contract consist of upgrading signalization by installing new mast arms, pedestrian detectors, and closed-circuit television cameras; sidewalk and driveway improvements; and minor landscaping on A1A/NE Ocean Boulevard at the intersection of Sewall’s Point Road.

Cost/Completion: $459,999. Completion in early 2018.

Traffic Impact:

  • Open House: On Wednesday, July 26, FDOT will host an informational Open House from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Sewall’s Point Town Hall in the Commission Chambers, One South Sewall’s Point Road, Sewall’s Point, FL 34496. Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one. No formal presentation will be made.

 

  1. NE Causeway Boulevard from Indian River Drive to State Road A1A in Jensen Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • The right turn lane from westbound NE Causeway Boulevard to northbound Indian River Drive will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through October.
  • The sidewalk along the north side of NW Causeway Boulevard is closed for building construction through October. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the south side of the roadway.

 

  1. Kanner Highway at Kansas Avenue in Stuart

Traffic Impact:

  • Starting Tuesday, the northbound shoulder of Kanner Highway at Kansas Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through July 28 for drainage work.

 

  1. Roosevelt Bridge Fishing Pier in Stuart

Traffic Impact:

  • The fishing pier located under the Roosevelt Bridge will be closed through August to replace the handrails along the pier. While the fishing pier is closed, no one will be permitted to access this area.

 

  1. U.S. 1 at Village Road in Stuart

Traffic Impact:

  • One northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for utility work.

 

  1. State Road A1A at Sandpebble Trace in Stuart

Traffic Impact:

  • Advance Notice: The southbound turn lane from SR A1A into Sandpebble Beach Condos will be closed Monday, July 17 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work.

 

  1. State Road 710 from Fox Brown Road to the Florida East Coast Railway in Indiantown

Traffic Impact:

  • One southbound lane of State Road 710 will be closed Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for asphalt repairs. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

 

  1. State Road 710 from Martin Highway to Tommy Clements Street in Indiantown

Traffic Impact:

  • Advance Notice: Lanes in either direction of State Road 710 will be closed intermittently Thursday, August 3 and Friday, August 4 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. for railroad crossing repairs. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

  1. Indrio Road Widening Project in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • The speed limit on Indrio Road between I-95 and Emerson Avenue has been reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph. The speed limit will remain at 45 mph after project completion.
  • One lane in either direction of Indrio Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for widening. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Johnston Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for widening. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Emerson Avenue may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for widening. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Spanish Lakes Boulevard may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for construction. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • Starting Monday, July 10, Johnston Road south of Indrio Road will be reduced to one lane around-the-clock through July 31 for road work. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  1. I-95 Bridge Deck Replacement Project at Gatlin Boulevard and Midway Road

 

Traffic Impact:

  • Two lanes in either direction of I-95 at Midway Road will be closed Sunday through Friday nights between 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. for striping.
  • Two lanes in either direction of I-95 at Gatlin Boulevard will be closed Thursday night, July 12 through Sunday night, July 16 between 8 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. for striping.
  1. Midway Road Widening Project from S. 25th Street to U.S. 1

 

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in either direction of Midway Road from 25th Street to U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Oleander Avenue from W. 1st Street to north of Midway Road will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of Sunrise Boulevard from W. 1st Street to Augusta Street will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • One lane in either direction of 25th Street north and south of Midway Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
  • The inside left turn lane from northbound U.S. 1 to westbound Midway Road is closed around-the-clock for widening.
  • The inside left turn lane from southbound U.S. 1 to eastbound Midway Road is closed around-the-clock for widening.
  • The right turn lane from eastbound Midway Road to southbound Oleander Avenue is closed around-the-clock for roadway widening. Eastbound motorists can turn south from the through lane.
  • The right turn lane from westbound Midway Road to northbound Oleander Avenue is closed around-the-clock for roadway widening. Westbound motorists can turn north from the through lane.
  • Magnolia Avenue is closed from Midway Road north for 100 feet through July 19 for drainage work. During this time, traffic will be detoured via Charlotta Street and Sunrise Boulevard.

 

  1. North 25th Street from St. Lucie Boulevard (County Road 608) to U.S. 1.

 

Traffic Impact:

  • The outside lane in each direction of 25th Street from U.S. 1 to Industrial Avenue Three is closed around-the-clock through July.
  • One lane in each direction of 25th Street from Industrial Avenue Three to St. Lucie Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through June.
  • The sidewalk along 25th Street from U.S. 1 to St. Lucie Boulevard may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of U.S. 1 at 25th Street may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through June.
  • The right turn lane from southbound U.S. 1 to 25thStreet may be closed periodically Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for sidewalk and signal work. Motorists turning right onto 25thStreet can use the outside through lane of U.S. 1.

 

  1. I-95 Bridge Deck Replacement Project at Glades Cut Off Road (County Road 709) and Ten Mile Creek

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in either direction of I-95 at Glades Cut Off Road may be closed Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • One lane in either direction of I-95 at Ten Mile Creek overpass may be closed Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Open House: On Wednesday, July 12, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an informational Open House from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Lucie County Fire District Administration Complex, 5160 NW Milner Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one. No formal presentation will be made.

 

  1. McCarty Road North Bridge Replacement Project

Traffic Impact:

  • Open House: On Thursday, July 27, FDOT will host an informational Open House from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Project Team Field Office, 2552 Peters Road, Suite C, Fort Pierce, Florida 34950. Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one. Please note: There will not be a formal presentation. Guests may arrive at any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

 

  1. St. Lucie West Boulevard from the I-95 Interchange to Peacock Boulevard in Port St. Lucie

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in either direction of St. Lucie West Boulevard will be closed Thursday between 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. for materials testing.

 

  1. I-95 at Crosstown Parkway (Exit 120) in Port St. Lucie

Traffic Impact:

  • One southbound lane of I-95 at Crosstown Parkway will be closed Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge repairs.

 

  1. I-95 at Indrio Road (Exit 138) in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One northbound lane of I-95 at Indrio Road will be closed Monday night between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m. for bridge repairs.

 

  1. I-95 South of Orange Avenue (Exit 131) in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • Advance Notice: One northbound lane of I-95 south of Orange Avenue will be closed Monday night, July 17 between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m. for bridge repairs.

 

  1. I-95 at Midway Road (Exit 126) in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One northbound lane of I-95 at Midway Road will be closed Tuesday night between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m. for bridge repairs.

 

  1. I-95 at Okeechobee Road (Exit 129) in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One northbound lane of I-95 at Okeechobee Road will be closed Wednesday between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. for bridge repairs.
  • One southbound lane of I-95 at Okeechobee Road will be closed Thursday between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge repairs.

 

  1. U.S. 1 from Virginia Avenue to Ohio Avenue in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in each direction of U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through August 25 for median work and to install mast arms.

 

  1. State Road 70 from NE 31st Avenue to NE 34th Avenue in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One westbound lane of State Road 70 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work.

 

  1. 25th Street between Juanita Avenue and Taylor Creek Bridge in Fort Pierce

Traffic Impact:

  • One northbound lane of 25th Street will be closed Wednesday and Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for restriping.

 

  1. State Road A1A from Pepper Lane to Nettles Boulevard in Jensen Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • The southbound lane of A1A will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

 

  1. State Road A1A from Florida Power and Light to Herman’s Bay Beach in Jensen Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • The northbound lane of A1A will be closed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for utility work. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

 

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

 

  1.  I-95 (SR 9) from just north of State Road 60 (Osceola Boulevard/Exit 147) at Vero Beach to the Indian River/Brevard County Line

 

Traffic Impact:

  • Motorists should be alert for slow moving construction vehicles entering and leaving the travel lanes.
  • The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph in the work zone.
  • One lane in each direction of I-95 may be closed Sunday through Thursday nights between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for construction activities.
  • I-95 northbound from MM 148 to MM 149 is shifted toward the median.
  • The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from County Road 512 is shifted slightly to the east.
  •  southbound at MM 153 is diverted to the median for roadway work.
  • I-95 southbound traffic from MM 156.5 to 155.8 is shifted to the new section of the CR 512 bridge.
  •  southbound at the Brevard County line is switched from a left lane closure to a right lane closure at MM 160.
  • I-95 southbound from MM 160 to MM 158 is shifted toward the median to the two inside lanes. southbound from MM 158 to MM 156 is shifted toward the median to the two inside lanes.

 

  1. Central Railroad Corridor Greenway (CRCG) Pedestrian Overpass

Description: Construction began April 26, 2017 on the Central Railroad Corridor Greenway (CRCG) Pedestrian Overpass project from west of I-95 to North County Regional Park. Work of this project includes: constructing a 12-foot shared use path and a pedestrian overpass over I-95, providing pedestrians and bicyclists with convenient access to area parks, conservation areas, recreational and educational facilities; maintaining an open drainage system with swales and minor culvert crossings; and installing lighting, architectural towers, and specialty signage at the bridge location.

Cost/Completion: $4.6 million. Completion in spring 2018.

Traffic Impact:

  • The shoulder along the I-95 northbound entrance ramp from County Road 512 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. through fall 2017.
  • The shoulder along the I-95 southbound exit ramp to County Road 512 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. through fall 2017.
  • Advance Notice: One lane in each direction of I-95 north of Fellsmere Road will be closed Tuesday, July 18 through Thursday night, July 20 between 9:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. for barrier wall installation.

 

  1. U.S. 1 south of Oslo Road in Vero Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • The southbound bike lane of U.S. 1 at Toyota of Vero Beach will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through July 14 to construct a driveway connection. During this time, cyclists heading south from Oslo Road should cross at Oslo Road.

 

  1. State Road A1A just north of Orchid Island Drive in Vero Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • One lane in either direction of A1A will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through July to construct a turn lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

 

  1. State Road 60 and 90th Avenue Intersection in Vero Beach

Traffic Impact:

  • One westbound lane of State Road 60 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, July 14 for paving.
  • One southbound lane of 90th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, July 14 for paving. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.
