Family of girl killed in fiery Ft Pierce crash will hold news conference

St Lucie County, Fl- The family of a 17-year-old girl killed last month in a fiery St. Lucie County crash will hold a news conference later this morning and demand an arrest in the case.

Alexis Chaney was one of five people killed on November 23rd.

Investigators said a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Tanner Ray Dashner of Fort Pierce, rear-ended the victims vehicle near Midway Road and 25th Street. The car burst into flames, killing five people inside.

Earlier this month, the Florida Highway Patrol held a news conference saying the investigation is still very open and active, and once its investigation is complete, it will send that information to the State Attorney’s Office, which will decide if charges should be filed.

Investigators said if anyone has any information about the wreck, call the Florida Highway Patrol at star-FHP.

Alexis was a  volunteered at First Step Park, located at Avenue G and North 31st Street. She went every Tuesday afternoon to help feed and uplift the lives of the younger children in the community.
