Exhumation scheduled for Thursday, April 21st at 10:00 A.M. in 1982 cold case homicide
The body of woman killed in 1982 is scheduled to be exhumed this Thursday, April 21st at 10:00 A.M. Her body was found five miles west of Interstate 95 with bullet holes. After the original investigation, she was buried in the Winter Beach Cemetery. Thirty four years later, the woman has still not yet been identified. The body is being exhumed to recover her skull to be processed using enhanced facial reconstruction techniques that were not available until now.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “We hope to give closure in this case. Somebody out there is missing a mother, a wife, a family member. We want to identify this woman and bring her killer to justice after all these years.”
