The Labyrinth of Love
Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz
Prince Theseus learns that escaping from the Minotaur’s labyrinth isn’t half as arduous as an escape from King Minos’s hostile court with his love, Princess Phaedra. This action-packed baroque comedy is full of court intrigue, mistaken identities and sword-fighting, as well as original music sung in Spanish. The first-ever grant awarded to IRSC from the National Endowment for the Arts funds this production—which is the world premiere of a new IRSC student-translated version of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz’s 1689 Mexican masterpiece. Rated PG
