A Night Under the Stars at Savannas Preserve State Park
Savannas Preserve State Park is proud to host a Star Party (Gathering of friends and other like-minded people to observe the night sky) with beloved members of the Treasure Coast Astronomical Society at our Main Entrance off Walton Road Friday March 31st from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Pending clear skies, we hope to view the moon, Mars, and double stars. Bring your cell phone to take pictures through the telescope!
Cost for the event is free with $3 park admission fee/vehicle. Please take a blue envelope from the honor box and put exact change in envelope before dropping in box. Hang the blue hanger from your windshield and park in the designated parking to the right. Cashless park entrance passes can be purchased online at https://www.floridastateparks.org/…/park-admission…
If using an online day pass, please write your day pass number on the blue envelope and drop in the honor box before hanging the blue hanger in the window.
Things to consider: You may wish to bring bug spray as the Preserve is near a marsh. Restrooms are available via a port-o-potty near the pavilion. The event will take place after dark, so please take caution and bring red lights (preferred) or sparingly use flashlights directed to the ground so as not to disturb night vision.
