Escaped Florida inmate caught after burglarizing home

Indian River County, Fl (treasurecoast.com- An escaped Florida inmate was caught after burglarizing a home in Indian River County.

The Indian County Sheriff’s Office received information that escaped prisoner Edward Saucier was possibly in our community near the area of 6400 48th Avenue.
Saucier was recently sentenced to two years in state prison for committing numerous burglaries in Indian River County.
On December 1, 2022, Saucier cut his ankle
monitor and escaped the Florida Department of Corrections in Kissimmee, Florida.
Through investigative leads Saucier was tracked to the area of 6400 48th Avenue.
Our Street Crimes Unit, K9, Helicopter, and numerous patrol units responded to the area.
Saucier was successfully located hiding in a nearby wooded area where he was arrested and transported to our County Jail.
