Double homicide suspect arrested in Sebastian

Sebastian, Fl (treasurecoast.com) – The Sebastian Police have announced that a suspect wanted for murder in Georgia has been arrested.

This is what they said:

In the late evening hours of April 18, 2022, our Agency was contacted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to attempt to locate Jordan K. Lemaster, the suspect in a brutal double homicide that occurred in Gordon, Georgia on the same date.

The GBI advised they received information Lemaster was possibly in the City of Sebastian using the deceased victim’s car.

After the initial location of interest turned up with no sign of Lemaster, a Sebastian Police Department dispatcher quickly began to look further into Lemaster’s connection to Sebastian.  This inquiry resulted in Lemaster having ties to a residence located in the 1400 block of Stonecrop Street.  At that time, responding officers located the victim’s vehicle parked across the street from the identified location.

Sebastian Police Department’s Special Response Team, which included a member of Vero Beach Police Department, and a member of Indian River Shores Public Safety Department were called out to assist and quickly responded to the location where Lemaster was ultimately located inside the victim’s vehicle.

Lemaster was taken into custody without incident and brought to the Sebastian Police Department for questioning by the GBI.

Chief Daniel Acosta stated, “Locating this dangerous individual would not have been possible without the desire of the members of this Agency to go above and beyond for the safety of our citizens.  I am extremely proud of the teamwork displayed and hope the family of the victims can find closure to this horrific incident.”

Lemaster was subsequently delivered to the Indian River County Jail for warrants obtained by the GBI.
