Dispute in Stuart triggers shooting

Martin County, Fla- A confrontation between truck driver and construction worker triggered a  shooting in residential neighborhood in Stuart.

It happened just after noon today along the 900 block of Sunset Terrace in North River Shores.

A construction worker identified as 27-year old Joseph Lee Marcum of West Palm Beach, said he shot 55-year old Eduardo Figuero Bello of West Palm Beach, following a confrontation on the street in front of numerous homes. Bello was driving a delivery truck through the neighborhood and attempted to pass through the narrow street where the construction crew was working. That’s when the confrontation began and gunfire erupted.

Eduardo Bello was shot several times and transported to a local trauma hospital. He is in critical but stable condition.

Detectives are still questioning witnesses and looking for any external home security camera footage that may have captured the incident.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office continues to question witnesses in the shooting that left one man in critical condition.
