St. Lucie County Partners with Florida Department of Health to Offer COVID Vaccine at St. Lucie County Fairgrounds By Appointment Only Jan. 11-13

 

  1. LUCIE COUNTY – The St. Lucie County Public Safety Department is partnering with the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County to offer drive-through COVID-19 vaccines for those over the age of 65 and health care workers with direct patient contact by appointment only Monday, Jan. 11 through Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds.

You must preregister for the event by visiting the Florida Department of Health website at stlucie.floridahealth.gov.  You will see a link to register for COVID vaccine events.  Follow prompts and instructions on the link. Please be aware that slots will fill up fast.  Once slots are full for a particular event, you will have the ability to add yourself to a wait list. There is no charge to register and there is no charge for the vaccine.

The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners is providing additional staff to assist the local Florida Department of Health office with answering telephone calls and processing registration. The number for Department of Health in St. Lucie County is 772-446-8480. St. Lucie County is also one of roughly 14 counties around the state that has purchased three ultra-cold freezer capabilities to handle additional vaccines doses.

Residents are encouraged to contact their primary care and medical providers, including hospitals and pharmacies, as those agencies are able to acquire vaccines directly from the manufacturers. Please remember for full vaccination – everyone will need two shots regardless of the type of vaccine you receive.

Demand for the vaccine is high around the state. As more shipments arrive, there more clinics and distribution sites will be announced. The fastest way to get notified of the clinics is to sign up for our alerts at www.stlucieco.gov/alert.
