Cold Week in store for Central Florida!
Melbourne, Fla (TreasureCoast.com)- The National Weather Service in Melbourne is reporting that a cold week is in store for Central Florida. Temperatures Thursday morning will dip to the low to mid 30s. Wind chill values will be dropping into the mid 20s.
They are asking everyone to take appropriate caution with pets, sensitive plants, pipes, and most importantly, yourself this week!
Several cold weather shelters to open. The nonprofit Image of Christ on 7th Street in Fort Pierce is open as a cold weather shelter every night for anyone who needs a warm place to stay.
In Martin County, cold weather shelters will be open tonight and tomorrow as well. The shelters will be at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Indiantown, and the Gertrude Walden Child Care Center in Stuart. The two shelters will be open from 7pm until 7am.
