Coast Guard continues search for missing Ft Pierce fishing captain
The Coast Guard has been searching through the night for a Fort Pierce fishing captain who fell overboard. 31-year old Russell Minor fell overboard around 3am Sunday morning while boating 300 miles from Cape Canaveral. The Coast Guard said crew members of Day Boat Too, owned by Day Boat Seafood, LLC, alerted authorities to Minor’s disappearance. Mike Shu is the first mate of Lady Chris Deep Sea Fishing. He spent two years working in the commercial industry before moving to Fort Pierce.
At approximately 6:30am on Sunday, members of the Coast Guard began searching for Minor using both rescue boats and helicopters. They continued the search all day yesterday and through the night.
