City of Stuart Pavement Maintenance Project – Zone 3

City of Stuart Pavement Maintenance Project – Zone 3

Stuart, FL – The City of Stuart 2021 Pavement Maintenance Project is scheduled to commence this week and weather permitting, is expected to be completed by March 31, 2021.

Each year, the City of Stuart inspects the roadways and identifies those streets that require repair or reconstruction for the Annual Pavement Maintenance Program.  Annual maintenance extends the life of our roads and helps us get the most out of our investment in infrastructure.  To facilitate coordination with other projects and minimize impacts to residents the City has adopted a zone-based system.

As part of the Annual Pavement Maintenance Program the City of Stuart will be completing essential road repairs and restoration within Zone 3 as well as completing remaining roadways within Zone 2 (SE Osceola St., SE Fourwinds Dr.).

The road work will consist of:

  • Pavement point repairs (will include excavation & asphalt restoration of a specific area).
  • Milling/overlay (consists of milling off existing asphalt and replacing with new asphalt).
  • Crack-sealing & Micro-surfacing (consists of the application of a polymer modified cold-mix paving system onto the existing pavement surface).

Road work will require intermittent lane shifts and closures.  Streets may be partially closed during posted working hours.  However, the contractor is required to allow residents to access their driveway when it is safe and possible to do so.
