City of Port St. Lucie recertified in the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS program!

The City of Port St. Lucie has been recertified in the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS program!  Pets help make cities happier, healthier places to live, and when pets are a part of City planning and policy, life is better for everyone.
“I’m proud that our City has received the Better Cities for Pets designation once again,” said Mayor Shannon Martin. “We treat our pets like family and it’s great to see our programs, parks, businesses and local organizations support, protect, foster and love our pets.”
The City has four dog parks — with more on the way! — as well as six parks that welcome leashed dogs. We also boast 62 pet waste stations throughout the the City. The City’s community cat program also helps care for local stray cats and humanely reduce overpopulation.  We’ve also partnered with the Humane Society of St. Lucie County for a free pet vaccine clinic at City Hall.
