City of Port St Lucie Code Specialist  saves residents life

Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -An on the ball City of Port St Lucie Code Specialist  saves a resident’s life.
In  late January, Code Specialist Rachel Knaggs, who’s worked at the City of Port St. Lucie since 2003, called a Swan Park resident to discuss a code case. As Specialist Knaggs had spoken to the resident several times before, she noticed something was different during the call.
The resident was speaking slower than normal and seemed unable to complete sentences. Concerned, Specialist Knaggs asked if the resident required medical attention. The resident declined, stating they did not want to be an inconvenience. Specialist Knaggs persisted and convinced the resident to allow her to call 911.
Unbeknownst to them, the resident was suffering a severe neurological episode.
Paramedics were able to take the resident to the hospital in time for them to receive proper care.
After a week in the hospital, the resident is now at home recovering, and reached out to us to thank Specialist Knaggs for her kindness. The resident credits Specialist Knaggs for saving their life.
In recognition of her efforts, Specialist Knaggs received the first-ever award for Code Specialist of the Month (January 2022).
