Is it just me or did the City of Fort Pierce look extra merry and bright this holiday season?! Fort Pierce was like a tropical winter wonderland, from the over-the-street lights Downtown and in Lincoln Park, to the perfectly wrapped palm trees on South Hutchinson Island, our town really shined for the holidays!
In addition to the gorgeous decorations done by our very own Public Works Department, over sixty community members helped brighten the City by participating in our first annual City of Lights Decorating Contest. Various homes, businesses and neighborhoods went above and beyond to make our community look as festive as ever!
Sponsored by Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful, the City of Lights Decorating Contest was designed to encourage the community to decorate and beautify their homes, businesses and neighborhoods during the holiday season. The City｡ｦs focus was to engage residents to share in the holiday spirit – mission accomplished! Residents and visitors used the City of Lights Guide or the interactive map online and took to the streets for their very own self-guided tour. The contest entries were broken down into four zones so that the fun could be split up into many nights of illuminated adventure.
Now that the holiday season is coming to an end, it is time to announce the winners! The over 700 community votes have been counted and the results are in. Drum roll, please｡K
