City of Fort Pierce Partners with FPUA for Electric Car Charging Stations

The City of Fort Pierce, in partnership with FPUA recently installed 4 new charging stations in the City Hall Parking Garage to meet the growing demand for electric cars.

With the increased use of electric cars, FPUA and the City of Fort Pierce proactively installed 4 new electric car charging stations located on the 3rd floor of the City Hall Parking Garage. Each station has
its own designated parking spot with a wall mounted station built for daily use and easy to use electrical charger. The existing EV charger located on the first floor of the parking garage will be relocated next week.

In addition, Tesla recently built a new Supercharging station at WaWa in Fort Pierce, located at 5575 Okeechobee Rd. The new charge site features 8 news stations with direct current for fast charging electric vehicles. Tesla added more than 2,000 Superchargers across the nation where locals and out of town visitors can easily charge their vehicles at convenient locations, now adding Fort Pierce to the map.

The City of Fort Pierce now has a total of 13 charging stations with anticipation of more to be installed in downtown Fort Pierce from the joint effort of FPUA and the City of Fort Pierce. The charging stations were deployed by NovaCHARGE, a leader in EV charging, costing a total of $9000.00 funded by FPUA. The City of Fort Pierce provided the installation, electricity, and parking spots.
