City of Fort Pierce Announces City of Lights Holiday Decorating Contest
Fort Pierce -Put on those creative thinking caps, untangle those Christmas lights and get ready for the 2nd Annual City of Lights Holiday Decorating Contest presented by the City of Fort Pierce.
The City of Lights Decorating Contest is designed to encourage the community to decorate and beautify their homes, businesses and neighborhoods during the holiday season. Anyone within city limits is eligible to participate. They will be placed on the City of Lights self-guided tour map for everyone to explore and enjoy! The City’s focus is to engage citizens to share in the holiday spirit . This could be decorating themselves or driving around to see the lights, it will be fun for the whole family!
Registration:
Registration will be open from November 21 to December 7 online at www.LoveFortPierce.com. Simply fill out the application, choose from one of four categories: single family residence, business, neighborhood, or condo/apartment, and upload a photo of your decorated home or building at night. Each category winner will receive $250 and a sign to display in their yard.*
Voting:
Voting will be accessible online at www.LoveFortPierce.comand https://www.facebook.com/ftpierce/between December 8 and December 17, to select the top contestants in each of the four categories. The finalists will be announced on December 18. Round two of voting will take place from December 18 to December 29.
Trolley Tours:
To add to the excitement this year, the City will be hosting festive Trolley Tours to view all of the City of Lights finalists. Trolley tours are free and will take place on December 19, 20, and 21 at 6:00 PM. Reservations are required. A free hot chocolate bar and holiday photo op will enhance the fun. Guests are asked to wear Ugly Christmas Sweaters and/or festive attire on the Trolley Tours.
