Cheeks:

My name is Cheeks and oh boy do I have a story to tell you. I came to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast as a stray back in December 2017. After a few days  the staff noticed that I wasn’t feeling well; I had an upper-respiratory infection. While I was being treated, the medical staff noted that my abdomen was sore and that I had not urinated recently. I had a urinary blockage and could not tinkle!  It was New Year’s Eve Eve and all of the vet clinics except for the emergency vet clinics were closed. Luckily, the shelter vet was able to act quickly to place a catheter and express my bladder. Whew! I am now on a special diet to help prevent future blockages and both my UTI and URI are long gone.

I’m looking for a home that can monitor my potty habits and can afford to take me to the doctor in the event that I have another urinary blockage. I am a smart, sweet, active, chunky-cheeked gentleman and I am ready for my new home! You can visit me and all of my adoptable friends online at hstc1.org. Help HSTC save more lives like mine by donating during Great Give on 4/24/18! Be sure to check out https://www.hstc1.org/greatgive for more details.
