Burglary to historic structure in Fellsmere
Fellsmere, Fla (treasurecoast.com)-Sometime between Thursday, 12/21/2017, at 8:00 am and Saturday, 12/23/2017, at 08:00 am, someone forcibly entered the historic “Section Foreman’s” house located on S. Carolina Avenue between 134th Ct. and Babcock. Then, they vandalized the building by spray painting an interior wall. The window was forcibly entered and also spray painted.
This is the oldest structure in Fellsmere. It was built around the turn of last century and is the last remaining building of the railroad village that once existed along South Carolina Avenue. It was recently re-located and renovated through a grant received by the City of Fellsmere and will serve as the anchor building for the future “railroad village” to be constructed in the area.
Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Fellsmere Police Department at 772-571-1360. Callers can remain anonymous.
