Broward couple arrested after duping Treasure Coast restaurants

FAST FOOD FRENZY, PHONY HAIR, AND BOGUS BILLS LAND BROWARD COUNTY DUO IN MARTIN COUNTY JAIL

Martin County, Fl

Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a South Florida couple Thursday. They say the couple were duping fast food restaurants by paying with counterfeit bills.

After the pair was stopped for passing a bogus twenty dollar bill at a local donut shop, their fast food road trip came to a screeching halt.

Along with numerous bags of food from different restaurants along the Treasure Coast, Martin County Sheriff’s Deputies found more than $500.00 in counterfeit twenty and fifty dollar bills, and more than $1500.00 in real US currency inside the car they were driving.

The duo also had two fake guns, a number of wigs, and a change of clothing.

Corpus, who is from North Lauderdale, told detectives she would go from fast food restaurant to fast food restaurant and order just an inexpensive meal. She would then pay for the food with a counterfeit twenty, or fifty dollar bill. In turn, she would get a large amount of change back, and the meal.

Jeffrey Robinson, who is from Pompano Beach, was the driver of the vehicle, although he didn’t have a valid license.

Priscilla Corpus was charged with uttering a forged instrument (three counts), possessing forged bills, and permitting an unauthorized operator to drive. She is being held at the Martin County Jail on a $20,400 bond. Jeffrey Robinson was charged with operating a vehicle without a license, and resisting arrest without violence. He was released from the Martin county Jail on $950.00 bond.
