BRIGHTLINE UPDATES WORK SCHEDULE ON N. CAUSEWAY RAILROAD CROSSING IN FORT PIERCE TO AND FROM NORTH HUTCHINSON ISLAND

ORLANDO (March 25, 2022) – Brightline, the only provider of modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail in America, will complete critical railroad crossing work along N. Causeway/A1A in Fort Pierce, between US-1 and the A1A bridge, as part of the Orlando extension project.
The updated construction plan will impact traffic at the crossing between April 18 and May 16. During this time the roadway will remain open, lane closures will occur and flaggers will be present.

Traffic will be detoured for one full day in May when the crossing is closed. Brightline is working with emergency responders to provide access to the island at all times. Schedules are subject to change.

Local residents are encouraged to sign up for Brightline updates by

texting “A1A” to 888-384-0037.

The work is being coordinated with the Florida Department of Transportation and St. Lucie County and will bring necessary crossing improvements including new crossing signals, crossing gates, pedestrian gates, and roadway asphalt improvements in preparation for the addition of a second railroad track.
Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits and other signage. Additional work details and detour information can be found below and on the Brightline website.
