Brevard Sheriff conducting death investigation at Port St John.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation at a residence in the 6900 block of Ackerman Avenue, Port Saint John.

Yesterday, the brother of one of the victims notified the Sheriff’s Office  of two adult individuals who were last seen in the area of Merritt Island. They were last seen on June 16, 2017. Both were considered missing and believed deceased.

The victims are identified as 35-year-old Joseph Watt and 35-year-old

At approximately 9:16 p.m., yesterday evening, the brother of Joseph Watt re-contacted the Sheriff’s Office advising he had located the deceased males at the Port St. John residence. Then, the deputies entered the residence and located the two victims deceased inside.

 

The trauma to the victims indicates homicide and the Post Mortems are scheduled for tomorrow. The investigative findings indicate the two victims were specifically targeted and the incident was drug related.

This investigation is ongoing.  Members of the Crime Scene and Homicide Units are still collecting evidence and conducting interviews to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
