AUTO BURGLARY LEADS TO ARREST OF “FELONY LANE” ASSOCIATE

A Broward County man who traveled north to steal from our local citizens, thought he got away with it once he crossed back over into Broward. He was wrong.

Thirty-one year old Quintin Lamar Hall, was charged with burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card, after he smashed a window and stole a bag from a vehicle parked at a local water park. Hall, then, immediately, went to the Jensen Beach Target store and purchased gift cards using the stolen debit card he got out of the bag.

Martin County detectives worked with investigators from Stuart Police Department who were investigating a similar burglary that happened at a Stuart fitness facility. With assistance from Broward County Sheriff’s investigators, and with cooperation from Target’s loss prevention team, detectives were able to identify, arrest, and charge Hall. Hall was arrested by Broward County Sheriff’s Deputies and remains behind bars.

Hall was on felony probation at the time of this arrest. He has a criminal history with 17-felony charges, two felony convictions, and one incarceration under his belt. He is back in jail again, without bond. He is also being held on charges stemming from crimes committed in Alachua County as well as another state.

Detectives say Hall, who resides on NW 21st Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale, is connected to the Felony Lane Gang. This group of organized thieves travel the interstate and targets parks and plazas that are close to the interstate. They look for parked cars to burglarize. They target credit cards, checkbooks, and items they can use to steal money from bank accounts. The group has been known to cause great financial distress for their victims. The thieves were given the “Felony Lane” label because they typically use a drive through bank lane to cash victim’s checks. The lane is usually the furthest lane from the teller window, so the teller cannot recognize or identify the vehicle’s occupants.

This group is known to be active during the summer months. Please let this serve as a reminder NOT to leave valuables in your car, especially in plain view.
