Adult Programing Continues at St. Lucie County Libraries

 

  1. LUCIE COUNTY – Librarians working in the St. Lucie County Library System believe learning shouldn’t stop after high school or college, which is why all six branch libraries provide a variety of adult programs.

Adult Programs for April include:

  • Garden Chat focused on pruning on Wednesday, April 6 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch.
  • Get Hooked – Beginning Crochet on Wednesday, April 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Explore the fun of crochet. Learn a new craft or brush up on old skills. All materials supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own hooks. The first of a three-part series.
  • Blackout Poetry on Wednesday, April 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Kilmer Branch. Celebrate National Poetry Month with Blackout Poetry: A writing exercise that creates meaningful art. All supplies provided. No registration necessary.

  • Rock Painting on Friday, April 15 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Hurston Branch. Adults, join us for an afternoon of painting rocks with a spring theme. Fun to hide around town or give as a gift. All supplies provided.
  • My Heritage Photo Tools on Tuesday, April 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Kilmer Branch. Join Treasure Coast Genealogical Society members for this informative webinar on some of My Heritage’s innovative photo features that enable you to see your ancestors more clearly than ever before. No registration necessary.
  • Rocket League Gaming Tournament for Adults on the Switch on Tuesday, April 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Compete in vehicular mayhem. Who will be victorious?

  • Ukulele Jam on Thursday, April 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. In partnership with the Treasure Coast Ukulele Club, bring your own instrument or check one out from the library.

Weekly Events for Adults:

  • Gardening Advice at the Morningside Branch: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Writer’s Workshop at the Morningside Branch on Thursdays at 9 a.m.
  • Off the Hook Crochet session at the Hurston Branch on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Don’t forget the library has specialized equipment available from sewing machines at the Hurston Branch to 3D printing and vinyl cutting equipment at the Lewis Branch. Additionally, the library’s online digital resources provide access to Rocket Language to help learn a second language and Mometrix eLibrary, which is a library of prep tests right at your fingertips including ACT, AP, CLEP, TOEFL, Florida State Assessments and more.
