911 and Body Camera Video from West Melbourne Shooting

The firearm referenced in the 911 call was a .22 rifle with a scope. That firearm was taken from Michael Proctor prior to law enforcement’s arrival, and was hidden behind a large stack of boxes in the home. The West Melbourne Police Department has since learned that Michael Proctor pointed that firearm at his father prior to law enforcement’s arrival. He pulled the trigger twice, but the gun jammed.

Michael Proctor had another firearm in his bedroom. This was a 30-30 rifle with a scope. This is the weapon he used to fire at the police officers. This is also the firearm he used to end his life.

The West Melbourne Police Department  are actively investigating the source of the firearms. They are asking anyone who might have information to contact either the West Melbourne Police Department, or Crimeline.  Please call even if they think their information regarding this case is not important.

West Melbourne Police 321-723-9673

Crimeline 407-423-TIPS (8477) with any information.
