Possible WW2 ordnance found on beach in Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- The Fort Pierce Police reported that a  possible WW2 ordnance was found on beach in Fort Pierce.

This is what they said:

On 04/25/2022 at 10:33 a.m., Fort Pierce Police Department Officers responded to 800 South Ocean Drive in reference to a suspicious incident.
Once on scene, officers were told by a passerby that they located a vintage WWII detonator drop bomb that washed up on shore. The St. Lucie County Bomb Squad was able to safely remove the bomb from the sand. The bomb was rendered safe at an undisclosed area.
