Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com) – A 8 year old girl fighting Leukemia got  a wonderful surprise from her community and the Port St. Lucie Police!
Meet Arya who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on October 6. She has been undergoing treatment and was hospitalized for the past 3 months. Doctors sent Arya home for two days to rest up and spend time with her family before her bone marrow transplant in Miami, which may require her to be hospitalized for another 3 months.

In just a couple hours of planning this afternoon, residents of our community came together and joined Assistant Chief Del Toro, members of PSLPD, and the St. Lucie County Fire District in a drive by parade to show support and brighten Arya’s day! Arya was all smiles and enjoyed seeing the outpouring support of our community.

PSLPD said they were honored to join Arya today and show her that she is not alone in her fight against leukemia.
We all wish her well on her next round of treatment and look forward to seeing her when she returns home!
