7 arrested, one still at large in Bass Pro Shop Gun Burglary Case
Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- On January 30, 2020, Port St Lucie Police arrested 24-year-old Damon Maurice Foster DOB 11/30/95, 20-year-old Jean Oudorff Monfort DOB 12/26/1999, 18-year-old Julydod Monfort DOB 10/25/01, 18-year-old Anthony Tanilus DOB 2/9/01, 16-year-old Cody Sullivan DOB 11/16/03, 17-year-old Tarmael Charles DOB 12/12/02, and 13-year-old Jalvin Delcis DOB 1/3/07; all of who reside in Fort Pierce and charged them with twelve counts of Grand Theft of Firearm, Burglary to Dwelling Structure Armed (1 count), Damaged Property/ Criminal Mischief (1 count) and Resist Officer/ Obstruct without violence for burglarizing Bass Pro Shop.
On January 30, 2020 at 00:15 am, Police went to the Bass Pro Shop located at 2250 SW Gatlin Boulevard, PSL for reports of an alleged burglary to the business.
Police learned that a good Samaritan who was parked in the parking lot of the business called 911 to advise he observed a small U-Haul box truck back into the Bass Pro Shop and shatter the glass doors.
A group of more than six suspects entered the business and began loading guns into the truck. The suspects fled the area with the U-Haul roll-up door wide open, and a PSLPD Officer observed the truck on I-95 northbound and requested the assistance of additional officers for a traffic stop.
St Lucie County Sheriff’s Deputies, Fort Pierce Police Officers/ K-9 teamed up with PSL Officers as the U-Haul truck was entering Fort Pierce (off Midway Rd) and they managed to stop the U-Haul truck. The suspects took off running, however they were all apprehended with the assistance of SLC Air Unit, Deputies, and SLCSO/ FPPD K-9.
Seven male suspects were arrested of which four were transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries (two with FPPD K-9 bites) and released a few hours later and transported to St Lucie County Jail. A total of twelve rifles were stolen and recovered in addition to two ‘hard rubber training’ handguns.
