A 65 year old female entered the Stuart Police lobby asking for a welfare check to be conducted on her family.
Officer TJ Delancy was dispatched to the station to assist the female.
Upon his arrival, the woman was visibly upset and requested to speak to the media.
Officer Delancy told the female that the media was not at the police station, when she suddenly pulled a large knife out of her pants pocket and placed the knife to her throat.
Thanks to Officer Delancy’s calm demeanor and excellent communication skills, no one was injured and the female was taken to the hospital.
