4 Georgia Men arrested for mail theft

4 Georgia Men arrested for mail theft.

24-year old Demetrius Evans, 26-year old Darius Evans, 32-year old Joshua Griffith, and 29-year old Joseph Porchea were arrested. This was after MCSO Pilot, Deputy Sean Marston, and Tactical Flight Officer, Deputy Ed Stagmiller observed the vehicle perusing in a residential neighborhood around 1:15 this morning.

The subjects drove from mailbox to mailbox along Waaler Street opening residential mailboxes and removing any contents. They also stopped at a dumpster. There much of the “unwanted” mail was disposed of. Deputies found stolen mail from homes and businesses along Waaler Street, Jay Street, and Commerce Avenue.

MCSO K-9 Deputy Justin Albauer is the first unit to get to the suspect car. Three of the four men also have arrest warrants out of different areas.

Joseph Porchea (who initially gave a false name to deputies) has a warrant out of Lee County. He is being held without bond. Subsequently, he will be transported back to Lee County to satisfy that warrant. Both Evans brothers have warrants out of Georgia. They have bonds because Georgia will not extradite for those warrants. Joshua Griffith has a $1000.00 bond.
