30 % of Florida households live pay check to pay check

A report released by the United Way of Florida sheds light on struggling families in the sunshine state.

According to the ALICE report, 30 percent of Florida households are living pay check to pay check.

These folks in the ALICE threshold live above the poverty line but struggle to afford basic everyday necessities.

Many south Florida counties surpass the state’s percentage.

In Martin County, 41-percent of households struggle to reach financial independence.

It’s 46-percent in St. Lucie County and 40-percent in Indian River County.

Working parents in need of social services can call 2-1-1. People there will let you know what resources are available to you.
