Detectives continued the investigation and learned that one of the residents of the home (not present during the shooting) sells Marijuana and this is the reason for the attempted robbery.

Detectives interviewed the male resident who sells Marijuana in the house.  The male told detectives that a in the recent past a friend had told him that two suspects, later identified as Gookool and Elien, said that they were going to “Hit a Lick”, which meant that they were going to steal the Marijuana at the victim’s house. Detectives talked to that witness and confirmed the statements made by the suspects.

Final investigation revealed that Gookool and Elien went to the victim’s house to rob them of the Marijuana.  Gookool first entered the patio, with Elien behind him, and ordered the three victim’s to the ground.  The victim’s refused and began to fight with Gookool.  Elien then shot his handgun hitting the 43 year old male victim in the buttocks.  Gookool and Elien then fled the scene.  The 43 year old man was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for the non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Gookool was arrested pursuant to the warrant and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.  Elien was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
