The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting on Sunday afternoon near Gifford Manor.

The victim told deputies the incident started as an argument. He said he didn’t want to smoke cannabis with a minor. That’s when a juvenile pulled out a gun and fired at him. The victim said the shooter ran off with several associates.

Deputies located the suspected shooter and a 9mm Glock handgun. The teen said he only fired gunshots into the air and not at the victim.
