VBPD assists US Probation Office in Search
Vero Beach Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit assisted the United States Probation Office in an offender search for Stephen Eugene Gregory on April 6th. The search was in the 1700 Block of 19th Street.
Gregory is currently on Federal Probation. The search was to be administered on his person and vehicle. During the search of Gregory’s vehicle, the United States Probation Officers located a substance that they believed to be an illegal narcotic. The search of Gregory’s vehicle was then halted and the investigation was turned over to VBPD SIU.
Special Investigations Unit Detectives applied for a search warrant for Gregory’s vehicle. It was then granted at 10:40AM. SIU then proceeded to execute said search warrant.
The search of the vehicle yielded 17.8 grams of crack cocaine, as well as 26 Hydromorphone pills.
Gregory was placed under arrest for felony Trafficking Hydromorphone and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine).
Stephen Gregory is currently being held in Indian River County Jail on no bond.
