Two deputies were injured and three children were shaken up after the mother of those children attempted to flee from officers who were responding to calls of a domestic dispute.

The incident began in the parking lot of Sea Wind Elementary School just before 8am. The woman and her husband, who was sitting in the passenger seat, were having a verbal altercation while in line to drop off their seven year old child. Deputies were called, and responded to the area. As one deputy arrived, the woman drove off and refused to pull over. A second deputy responded and attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time, she intentionally rammed the driver’s side of the patrol car. Three children, ages 7, 3, and 2, were in the back seat through the event. The children were crying, but uninjured. The deputies both received non-life threatening injuries. The woman, identified as 38-year old Erin Chabot, faces charges of fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery on two law enforcement officers, and child endangerment.
