Tip from Skype leads to arrest for Possession of Child Pornography.
Responding to a tip Skype and the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, detectives arrested Martin Joseph Reilly, 22, on 10 felony counts of possession of child pornography.
The tip began when Skype discovered a user uploaded a pornographic image of a child. Skype forwarded that information to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children for investigation. The National Center confirmed the information was child pornography and the Skype user was based out of south Florida.
Detectives served a search warrant on Reilly’s home, located in the 6400 block of North U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce and found 10 video files depicting various sex acts involving children.
Reilly was arrested and booked into the St. Lucie County Jail where he was held on a $37,500 bond.
“Our agency is continuing to search out and rid our community of the fungus that preys upon and victimizes children,” said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. “Hopefully the message is clear, you can’t hide, we will find you, and you will pay the consequence.”
