Tip Leads to Arrest of Fugitive Shooting Suspect

On Friday, September 18, 2015, police received a tip which led to the arrest of Diahann King, 47, of Fort Pierce, in connection with a shooting at The Spot Jamaican Restaurant.

King was apprehended by Fort Pierce Police Detective Benjamin Thayer and Port St. Lucie Police Officer David Goldstein as she was attempting to board a Greyhound bus in Fort Pierce to leave the area. Thayer and Goldstein are members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.

King has been at large since the shooting which occurred on Friday, September 11, 2015. She was arrested without incident and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail. She has no bond.

Victim, Deforrest Swoope, 31, of Fort Pierce, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
