According to the Sheriff, the victim had been staying with Nadeen Serrano, 34, and her boyfriend Edward Helmly, Jr. 45 when Jean Luxone Coriolan, 42, arrived at the home in the 1000 block of South 27th Circle to sell crack cocaine to Serrano and Helmly, Jr.

Promised Coriolan that the victim would have sex with him to pay off their debt.

“Serrano and Helmly, Jr. did not have money to pay for the crack, so they promised Coriolan that the victim would have sex with him to pay off their debt,” Mascara said. “The victim first locked themself in the bathroom, but then later managed to lock themself in their bedroom. Serrano, Helmly, Jr. and Coriolan were just about to enter the bedroom when U.S. Marshals showed up.”

According to the Sheriff, the victim had no money and no other place to live.

“Serrano and Helmly, Jr. continually threatened the victim saying they would kick them out of the house if they didn’t concede to their various demands, ranging from giving them what little money they had to driving them around town,” Mascara said. “This type of disregard for another human is unimaginable in 2017.”

Coriolan was charged with sexual assault, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine. He was booked in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $30,750 bond.

Serrano was charged with kidnapping-coercing commercial sexual activity for human trafficking.  She was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
