Tense moments as St Lucie County Fire Rescue and Florida Forest Service battled a Sunday afternoon.
First responding crews arrived at Saddlebrooke Drive and Spendthrift Lane where the brush fire was burning.
5 homes were evacuated as a precaution.
Around 5 p.m. officials reported that the fire was out and residents could return to their homes.
