Stuart Police seeking on possible jumper from Roosevelt Bridge

On Tuesday morning at 6 am, Stuart Police received a call from a citizen reporting that he located clothing, a wallet, shoes, and a cell phone on the top of the New Roosevelt Bridge.

Officers responded and began to investigate. Officers used the identification found on the bridge and contacted the spouse of the male. It was discovered that there was a call made earlier in the morning by the subject threatening to jump off of the bridge.

Right now, Detective Sergeant Frank Logalbo is leading the search and rescue operations from the Stuart Police Marine Unit. He is joined by other marine units from the Martin County Sherriff’s Office and FWC. We are canvassing the waterways near the Roosevelt Bridge. We have not confirmed that the subject had jumped off of the bridge at this time.

If you witnessed anything suspicious, or if you have any possible information that could be related to this case, please contact Stuart Police at 772-287-1122 or by dialing 911.
