Stuart Community Concert Band to perform holiday concerts Saturday at the Blake Library

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and it’s almost time to let the joyous music of the holiday season lift your hearts, spirits, and voices as the Stuart Community Concert Band performs your favorite holiday tunes and classics at our two annual public Christmas concerts this Saturday at the Blake Library.

Ttickets for the 2016 Holiday Concert are free and open to the public, with the morning performance on December 3 beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the afternoon concert scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Many people have already picked up their free tickets, but there were still tickets available for both performances at the Blake Library. It’s necessary to get free tickets in advance, because there is a maximum number of people who can be accommodated and seated comfortably at each concert. Tickets are free and available at the Blake Library on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our 2016 Holiday Concert will feature tunes and classics such as Sleigh Ride, A Christmas Festival, Handel’s Messiah, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, The Eighth Candle, Hanukkah Highlights, A Jubilant Christmas, Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, Fantasia for Christmas, and many more.

The Stuart Community Concert Band is under the direction of Mr. Jim LeBon and consists of musicians of all ages who happily donate our time and talent to create quality music for the enjoyment of our audience. Our holiday concerts at the Blake Library have become a very popular family tradition in our community over the years, and we hope to see everyone there with Christmas spirit on Saturday!

The Stuart Community Concert Band is a non-profit, 501c organization (contributions are tax-deductible) with musicians from all walks of life and professions and age groups, ranging  from high-school students to retired residents in their nineties. We all share a mutual love of music, and we gather every week to practice and play our instruments. Anyone is welcome to join us! Rehearsals are Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the North Stuart Baptist Church on U.S. 1. If you are interested in joining us or just coming out to play, we’ll be happy to see you! All are welcome.
