Single vehicle car crash claims the life of a 31 year old PSL man.

On August 4, 2017 at around 2:15 am, Port St. Lucie Police went to the area of SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard and SW Greco Lane for reports of a single vehicle car crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed that 31 year old Randy Garcia  was driving his black Acura west on Port St. Lucie Boulevard. As the car traveled west Garcia then veered off the road and collided with a concrete power pole at SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard and SW Greco Lane. The impact caused the car to catch on fire. Responding officers were able to put out the flames and remove Garcia from the car.

St. Lucie County Fire/Rescue transported Garcia to Tradition Medical Center. Garcia was pronounced dead at the hospital.

NOTE: Two traffic lanes are closed westbound on SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard just west of SW Del Rio Boulevard as FPL replaced the power pole.

Port St. Lucie Police Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing the investigation to determine the factors surrounding the crash.
