IRCSO seeks help in shooting incidents

Indian River County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to three shooting incidents in an eight hour period.

It started Friday evening with reports of shots fired at Victory Park Apartments in Gifford.

An hour later a man went to the Indian River Medical Center emergency room with a gunshot wound to the hand. He subsequently left after find out the authorities had been called. He was found later by deputies but refused to cooperate.

Around 1am Saturday morning there were more reports of shots fired. This was  near 86th Lane in Wabasso. Investigators say a man told responding crews he was in his car when he began to take on gunfire from two other vehicles.

Deputies found shell casings in the area indicating the weapon used was a high powered AK-47 or SKS style rifle. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call the Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS.
