Hibiscus Artists Reception

Vero Beach, FL – Hibiscus Children’s Center was delighted to host a lovely reception for the artists and committee members of its unique new event, “Chairish the Children”.   The Tiger Lily Art Studio & Gallery in Vero Beach was the perfect setting for this get-together that gave the volunteers and many local artists an opportunity to get acquainted or reconnect with old friends, all for the purpose of raising funds for abused youth living at the Hibiscus Children’s Village in Vero Beach.

This inaugural event, Chairish the Children, will feature chairs designed and embellished by over 35 local artists to be auctioned at a cocktail and buffet dinner party on February 19, 2016, at the Vero Beach Country Club.  Excitement was definitely in the air as the artists shared some of their creative ideas for the type of chair or bench they will be creating and the different mediums of art.   Tiger Lily Gallery owners Shotsi Cain LaJoie, Cristina Abizaid, Travis Blanton, Glenda Taylor, Julia Carter and Sharon Koerner Sexton, were gracious hosts and all guests enjoyed the inspirational and beautiful artwork displayed throughout the gallery by these talented women.

The Indian River Guild has been presenting fundraisers to benefit Hibiscus Children’s Center for over a decade, but this new event is definitely one-of-a-kind!   Bringing together the local arts community and the children’s non-profit organization is a wonderful way to celebrate the culture and beauty of Vero Beach while we protect and care for the youth in our community who need our help.

Event chairs Sue Sharpe and Julie Otto and their dedicated committee have been busy planning for the February 19th art auction event. Sue shared, “We are so pleased with the overwhelming support of the Vero Beach art community. This is going to be a fun filled event that you will not want to miss”.
