Family Friendly night-out for a great cause.

Local Fundraiser Part of Nationwide Effort to Battle Fatal Disease.

Are you ready for a great night out with family and friends that will benefit a great cause? Then you are not going to want to miss out on the Treasure Coast Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis. This family-friendly event will be Friday, May 12th at Indian Riverside Park.  Registration will start at 5:00pm.  A DJ with great music, fantastic food and lots of fun and games will only be enhanced by the beautiful scenic walk winding along the Indian River Lagoon.

“This year’s walk is going to be amazing!” said Colette Beland, Development Director, of the Florida Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  “In addition to all of the festivities, we have a big competition between the Martin County

Firefighters and Sheriff’s Department. We will also be having a DJ, a Kids Zone and other fun and wacky games including giant bowling, cornhole, giant Jenga and more! The finale of the evening will include a tug-of-war between the Martin County Firefighters and Sheriff’s Department to carry the bragging rights for the entire year!”

The Great Strides Walk
The Great Strides Walk is the largest national fundraising event for Cystic Fibrosis.  The Treasure Coast Walk has been happening for over 15 years, and we are striving to make this the best year yet.  CF is a fatal genetic disease that afflicts 30,000 adults and children in the United States. It ravages the lungs and digestive system and causes debilitating lung infections leading to premature death. Funds raised through Great Strides have spurred dramatic progress in the lives of those who have cystic fibrosis (CF). Fifty years ago, most children with CF did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, people with CF are living into their 30s, 40s and beyond.

We would like to thank: Kissed by a Rose DJ Service, Chick Fil A, Martin County Sheriff’s Department, and the Martin County Firefighters and Paramedics.
