Department of Justice to Host Open Community Forum to Gain
Feedback from Fort Pierce Residents
Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) is holding a community listening session as part of its collaborative reform initiative with the Fort Pierce Police Department on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. EST. The goal of the listening session is to elicit feedback from the community on how the Fort Pierce Police Department can foster trust and strengthen relationships with the community.
An important part of the collaborative reform process is listening to the community’s perspective on their law enforcement agency. Representatives from the COPS Office will be present to discuss and answer questions related to the Collaborative Reform Initiative for Technical Assistance process.

The COPS Office developed the Collaborative Reform Initiative for Technical Assistance in 2011 as an independent and objective way to transform a law enforcement agency through an analysis of policies, practices, training, tactics and accountability methods around key issues facing law enforcement today.
